1. Log onto the BBC Languages French page http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/french/gauge/ for a 12-question multiple choice test to get a basic idea of your French level. Although it is not an exact assessment tool, the site notes that the test will give you an “approximate indication of your knowledge.” Include your score in your comments. You can take the test again for a better score if you wish! :)

2 Visit the ESL Language Studies Abroad site http://www.esl-languages.com/en/study-abroad/online-tests/french-test/index.htm for a more in-depth multiple choice test comprising 40 questions designed to test your grammar skills. At the conclusion of the test you will be assigned a level from beginning to advanced. include your score in your comments.

3 Test your comprehension skills by logging onto Radio France International’s (RFI) French language page http://www.rfi.fr/lffr/pages/001/accueil_exercice_ecoute.asp to listen to extracts of French radio reports followed by multiple choice questions (also in French). Write down what you listened to and how you did on the quiz. Do at least 2 of them!

4 Grow your vocabulary by logging onto http://www.french-flashcards.com/ In addition to interactive flashcards, the site also offers written drills to enhance your comprehension and writing skills. you will need to sign up for free, and they will send you daily emails for practice! try some and comment on what you think?
